Traditionally prepared with Gobindobhog rice, ghee, sugar, and whole spices, the dish reflects Bengal’s love for subtle sweetness balanced delicately with aromatic richness and festive refinement.

  • 2 cups Gobindobhog rice
  • 3 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 2–3 green cardamoms
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick
